Their story

Foy Draper was a sprinter who won a gold medal in the 4x100m relay (with Jesse Owens) at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, then served as a U.S. Army Air Forces pilot flying an A-20B Havoc attack bomber from Thelepte, Tunisia. On January 4, 1943, he and his crew took off on a mission to strike German and Italian ground forces in Tunisia during the fighting around Kasserine Pass; his aircraft was shot down and Draper and two crewmen were killed.
