Their story
On December 3, 1944, during the attack on Saint-Hippolyte, France, Sergeant Weicht aggressively led his squad and single-handedly knocked out two hostile gun emplacements, killing machine gunners and a 20-mm gun crew while exposing himself to intense enemy fire. He was killed by a direct hit from an antitank gun while attacking an enemy roadblock and providing covering fire for his men, actions for which he was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.
