Their story
On January 8, 1945, in Dahl, Luxembourg, Sergeant Turner led a 9-man squad in a four-hour defense of a critical house against an intense German counterattack, flinging a can of flaming oil at the first wave of attackers and fighting doggedly room to room, with the action resulting in 25 prisoners taken and heavy enemy casualties. He was killed in action on February 8, 1945, and posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor on June 28, 1945.
