Their story
Quentin Roosevelt, youngest son of President Theodore Roosevelt, was a fighter pilot with the 95th Aero Squadron who scored one confirmed aerial victory before being shot down and killed in aerial combat near Chamery, France, on July 14, 1918, during the Second Battle of the Marne. German troops buried him near the crash site; in 1955 his remains were reinterred at Normandy American Cemetery beside his brother Theodore Roosevelt Jr., making him the only World War I service member buried there.
